TPx recently launched a new alliance with the New York City-based Flatiron School to support the advancement of Black technology professionals.
Flatiron School is an innovator in the education space, and its mission to enable the pursuit of a better life through education is laudable and will help change the technology space. The school teaches in-demand tech skills like software engineering, data science, cybersecurity, and product design.
The school is partnering with companies on four-month-long apprenticeships as part of its John Stanley Ford Fellowship. The program offers on-the-job training and ongoing mentorship for young professionals.
According to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Black technology professionals make up just 7% of the high-tech sector. While there may be several reasons why this is the case, there should be no debate about changing that number.
At TPx, we believe that we are stronger together, and are constantly working toward creating a team that mirrors the diversity of our communities. Our commitment is to nurture talent, enable individual growth and create an environment where every TPx team member feels included.
We are excited to partner with Flatiron School and hire alumni through the John Stanley Ford Fellowship. TPx is committed to hiring a reflection of the communities we serve and enable opportunities to the broader public. Our experience with Flatiron School graduates is numerous in their record of success and their betterment of the TPx community.
