TPx recently launched a new alliance with the New York City-based Flatiron School to support the advancement of Black technology professionals.

Flatiron School is an innovator in the education space, and its mission to enable the pursuit of a better life through education is laudable and will help change the technology space. The school teaches in-demand tech skills like software engineering, data science, cybersecurity, and product design.

The school is partnering with companies on four-month-long apprenticeships as part of its John Stanley Ford Fellowship. The program offers on-the-job training and ongoing mentorship for young professionals.

According to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Black technology professionals make up just 7% of the high-tech sector. While there may be several reasons why this is the case, there should be no debate about changing that number.
