Summary Page in Network Monitor

The Summary page is where you’ll spend most of your time on Network Monitor. It’s a single page-at-a-glance display that gives you immediate access to all the critical information you need to monitor your network’s performance. Here’s what you’ll see:

Network Monitor - Summary page

Find links to online resources you can use to find additional information, guidance or quick trouble resolution from TPx. You’ll get one-click access to key forms and contacts you can use to quickly resolve any issue.

Current Node Issues

This is the chart you’ll probably check first when you use Network Monitor. It is a current snapshot of all ongoing problems on nodes in your network. You can click on each highlighted issue to drill down for more content. It will show any warning, critical or down alarms in your network, including problems with availability, response time and packet loss.

All Nodes Listing

Every node that Network Monitor tracks can be easily accessed from this tool. It shows your entire network in a clear hierarchical tree organized by site that lets you easily expand listings to drill down to the individual node you want to look at.

Last Events

This section is a running, up-to-date log of all events for every device on your network, with the most current first. It gives you a seven-day listing of all your monitoring and platform events. As with any other Network Monitor section, you can hover or click on specific events for detailed information.

Top 10 Nodes by Current Response Time

At-a-glance tracking of the ten nodes in your network that Network Monitor reports as having the highest current response time performance.

Top 10 Nodes by Average Response Time

At-a-glance tracking of the ten nodes in your network that Network Monitor reports as having the highest average response time performance.

Top 10 Nodes by Percentage Packet Loss

At-a-glance tracking of the ten nodes in your network that Network Monitor reports as having the greatest percentage of packet loss.

Top 10 Interfaces by Percent Utilization

At-a-glance tracking of the busiest interfaces in your network.

Top 10 Interfaces by Traffic

At-a-glance tracking of the ten interfaces in your network that are using the most bandwidth in their receive/transmit activity. Interface descriptions are shown (if available) and the unit of measures used are Megabits (Mbps), Kilobits (Kbps) or Bits (bps).

Top 10 Errors & Discards This Hour

At-a-glance tracking of the interfaces that have generated the most receive and transmit errors and discards occurring over the current hour.

Top 10 Errors & Discards Today

At-a-glance tracking of the interfaces that have generated the most receive and transmit errors and discards occurring over the present day.
