TPx Turns Up The Volume On UCx Unified Communications

LOS ANGELESDecember 14, 2017 — TPx Communications has hired Jamie Minner to be the first Vice-President of its newly established UCx line of business.  In that role, he will bring dedicated and focused leadership to the deep portfolio of advanced Unified Communications (UC) solutions that UCx delivers for businesses as TPx continues its aggressive national expansion as the country’s premier managed services carrier.

“We knew that UCx would be one of the keystones supporting our strategic plan to cement TPx into the front rank of national managed services companies,” said TPx CEO Dick Jalkut.   “We don’t want to just be a carrier that’s good at UC.  We want to be the best UC provider in the country.  We do that by being UC experts and taking great care of our customers, but also by leveraging our network expertise and ability to provide complete one-stop solutions that include connectivity and our deep portfolio of managed IT services.”

The purchase of DSCI a year ago brought its award-winning UCx product line to TPx’s already robust suite of cloud, continuity and connectivity solutions as the flagship of its UCaaS offerings. The ensuing year of focus on integrating all the newly acquired processes, resources and products into a seamless TPx whole has set the stage for national expansion.

“Jamie is going to be the catalyst that really ignites the growth for UCx’s suite of communication and collaboration solutions for businesses around the country,” said David Zahn, TPx’s Senior Vice-President of Marketing.  “With a base of more than 125,000 seats on a single, polished platform and his deep, expert knowledge of how businesses can use and benefit from our UCx power and reliability, Jamie will make that number explode. We look to him to be the evangelist, visionary and leader of a distinct UCx line of business to make that happen.”

Minner brings nearly two decades of executive leadership to his new role.  He successfully grew sales for national businesses, including Momentum, IP5280 and Cbeyond, as they evolved to meet the changing opportunities driven by transformative advances in communications technology.

“I’ve always loved challenges, but some more than others,” said Minner.  “The ones that, not surprisingly, are the most attractive are the ones of opportunity.  Today there’s a sea change in how businesses use communications that creates huge new opportunities to rewrite the leaderboard.  The UCx line of solutions is incredibly powerful, but even more attractive to me was the total package that TPx is able to offer customers — one-stop shopping, supported by a DNA built around customer service.  Deciding to take this opportunity wasn’t even a close call because of the combination of people, product and performance.”

Minner reports to David Zahn and is based out of TPx’s Denver office.
