TPx’s employees are at the heart of our business. The dedication each and every employee has to the work they do is second to none. In our employee spotlight series, we like to highlight all the work our employees do to support our customers. This month, we would like to highlight TPx’s Vice President, Implementation Services, Yvette Barreto and the work she does at TPx. Read on to learn more about Yvette.
What does your role entail at TPx?
I manage the Implementation Services team with the help of 7 outstanding leaders. I have a large team comprised of very hard working, intelligent, passionate and dedicated individuals who work to configure, install and support our customer’s managed services needs.
How does the work your team is doing impact key objectives at TPx?
My team is focused on providing a great implementation experience to our customers. Over the past year, we have worked hard to raise our CSAT score to 90% YTD, all while keeping our escalation percentage under 1% and decreasing backlog over $1M in the past year.
You’ve been with TPx for nearly 25 years, how has the company evolved?
I remember the early days in 1999 when we would all sit around a table, yes one table in downtown Los Angeles face to face and report out on every single customer we had. We had one technician who did all of our cutovers, one team member sending our circuit orders, a few PM’s, a small sales team and one 5E switch. Fast forward to today, we have grown into a nationwide managed services provider with Sales teams all over the country, team members sitting in cities nationwide, Ireland, India, Costa Rica and Mexico, which allows us to select our talent not based on where we have offices, but where the talent is. Our products and services have evolved as the industry changes. We are no longer delivering T-1’s which was the craze back then. Everyone wanted a 1.5M T-1, haha. So much has changed, our team members have continued to learn and become knowledgeable and skilled about what product brings to the market.
Which accomplishments at TPx are you most proud of?
I am most proud of our people and the teamwork across the business. Our team works together to overcome any obstacles to provide the best experience possible for our customers – and that means everything. The company continues to invest in new systems like ServiceNow that will help our team improve processes to deliver on a better implementation experience.
What has made the biggest impact on your professional life?
Having leadership believe in my abilities to lead my team and allowing me to do so has made a tremendous impact on my professional life. I played sports growing up so I have always had a competitive spirit, which I do believe has helped me in my career. That mentality always pushes me to do better and challenge myself to do better for our customers. When I’m faced with a problem, I don’t take no for an answer, there is always a way forward!
What does diversity, equity, and inclusion mean to you and why is it important?
To me, if you are qualified, it shouldn’t matter what your race, religion or your beliefs are. I’m proud of our Executive team and the fact that they have had trainings around DEI and when I join calls and see so much diversity, it is a breath of fresh air knowing we are all in this together.
What’s the one topic you never get tired of learning about?
Technology! With so much changing so quickly, there is always more to learn. We should never stop being students.
What are you most passionate about outside of work?
Spending time with my family outdoors, attending church, bible studies and going to baseball games!
What does your perfect weekend look like?
Being on Flathead lake, great weather, lots of sunshine, grateful for where I live and all the blessings I have been given.
